Moray residents have less than one month left to have their say on the development of the Moray Growth Deal; a regional deal designed to boost economic growth across Moray.
People living in Moray are being asked to participate in the survey, which will end on 30th September, to help with the development of the Moray Growth Deal bid. The completed surveys will be analysed and reflected in a report to Moray Council and lead to further discussions with the Scottish and UK Governments.
Since the My Moray campaign was launched in July, it has seen huge levels of interest with local residents completing the survey, visiting the My Moray stand at events including the Keith Show, Elgin Food & Drink Festival and Speyfest, and engaging with the My Moray social media pages, as well as local businesses pledging their support.
John Cowe, Chair of Moray Economic Partnership, said: “The My Moray campaign was launched to encourage people to get behind the Growth Deal and think about what the future of Moray will look like.
“Thank you to everyone who has completed the survey so far, pledged their business support and engaged with the campaign at various events and on social media. But we’re not done yet! We need as many voices as possible to have their say to help us shape the future of the region so please go online and complete the short survey. From increased job opportunities, higher wages and better education to improved digital connectivity and better cultural offerings, we can work towards tangible improvements for residents if the Moray Growth Deal bid is successful.”
The Moray Growth Deal is a long-term plan centred around specific projects designed to transform the economy, address concerns around encouraging young people to live and work in the area and address gender inequality in employment. It brings together Scottish and UK Governments, Moray Council, partners from across the public and third sectors and private businesses. Each of these partners will be investing in a better future for Moray.
By boosting economic growth across the region through the Moray Growth Deal, it is hoped that by 2030 Moray will be renowned as an ambitious community, a thriving and attractive business base, and a desirable place to live with an exceptional quality of life.
Those wishing to get involved can do so by 30th September by completing the survey here.
